L.I.F.E. Homes - Living In Fullness Everyday

Our Vision for Ministry:
To rescue the homeless and drug addicted children of Guatemala and bring them into the light of the Father's unconditional love. We have purchased 17 acres of propertylocated 30 minutes outside of Guatemala City and have built Life Homes. The children in this program are in need of financial support and prayers. They have been taken in as "our family" by the directors of L.I.F.E. Homes, which provides a unique and nurturing setting other than the typical orphanage.

Life Homes...
... are single-family size homes that have houseparents overseeing 10-12 boys. Our desire is not to institutionalize these boys, but to emulate the family as best as possible. Many of the boys that we work with do not know what it is like to be part of a family.

In the Life Intensive Care Home...
... our main focus is to work with the street children of Guatemala, the children and youth that other homes do not want. We work on the streets with the children and in the youth jails and plan to receive boys from these institutions. The Life Intensive Care Home will be like a halfway house between the streets and the Life Homes.

The Infant Home...
... is for abandoned and unwanted babies. Our purpose in Guatemala is to raise these children with the saving knowledge that is found only in Jesus Christ our Lord; The Adoption Program for these infants is an extension of this ministris purpose.

The Life Tender Mercies Home...
... is for children suffering with HIV/AIDS. This home will be staffed with Christian doctors, nurses, and other volunteers to minister to the physical needs as well as the spiritual, emotional, and other daily life needs that these precious children have.

Image 2School and Trade Centers:
We are now a legal, private, Guatemalan school. The younger school age children will receive a complete education, while the older children will receive a basic education in reading, writing, and arithmetic. In the Trade Centers, they will be taught skills such as woodworking, mechanics, electrical, and construction skills.

Recreational and Sports Area:
This area will include soccer and baseball fields, a basketball court for the older children, and play ground equipment for the younger children.

Agricultural Program:
There will be a working farm where we will raise produce to be used in the Life Homes and to be sold on the open market. The profits will then help to support the Life Homes. Our goal is that the Life Homes will be self-supporting.

In January 2007, Bethany began an exciting new partnership with Amando a los Ninos (loving the Children), an orphanage in Guatemala City which was founded in January 2006 by a Christian family. After a year of prayer, preparations and work groups making improvements on the facility, they recently opened their doors to nine girls aged three to eight. The children will receive physical, educational, emotional and spiritual nurturing while the courts determine their legal status. Some children will become available for adoption, others will return to their birth families and some will live for years at the orphanage. As girls move into the orphanage, they will be included in the sponsorship program. Please consider your involvement as a sponsor. Sponsorship support will enable each child to be part of a family and receive Christian education, food and clothing.
