Serving children and families in Kolfe-Keranio suffering from the impact of HIV/AIDS through immediate relief and education

Kolfe-Keranio is one of the most deprived areas of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Estimates suggest that 15% of the 420,000 people living in the area suffer from HIV/AIDS. This rapidly growing pandemic is causing acute social problems, such as substandard living conditions, unemployment, child abandonment, and child labor.

Bethany's International Sponsorship support in Kolfe-Keranio gives immediate, life-sustaining assistance to children and families by providing food, clothing, shelter, and education. Women also receive assistance through vocational training programs for sewing and knitting. These two-year programs provide employment opportunities and pave the way for long-term independence.
