Serving children and families in Kolfe-Keranio suffering from the impact of HIV/AIDS through immediate relief and education.

Bethany's Sponsorship program in Kolfe-Keranio provides immediate, life sustaining assistance to children and families through food, clothing, shelter, and education. Women also receive assistance through vocational training programs for sewing and knitting. These two-year vocational training programs provide employment opportunities and pave the way for long-term independence.

Kolfe-Keranio is one of the most deprived areas of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Estimates suggest that 15% of the 420,000 people living in the area suffer from HIV/AIDS. Due to this rapidly growing pandemic, acute social problems, characterized by substandard living conditions, unemployment, child abandonment, and child labor are on the rise.
