Mom was just 22 and unmarried when I was born. After telling my grandparents she was pregnant, my mother was given two choices; have an abortion or get out of their home. Mom left. Fortunately, the hospital where she worked allowed mom to live in a room there, and when not hospitalized as a patient (her pregnancy was very difficult) that is where she lived until I was born.
