I have had a difficult start to life. I was born with mental disabilities, and shortly after I was born my mother abandoned me in the Maternity Hospital. From there, I was sent to an orphanage designated for children with special needs. Although this may seem like a perfect answer for me, in reality such orphanages are typically the last to receive assistance from the Romanian government, and the last on the list to receive help from outside organizations. This was a devastating move for me. Finally, in 2002, I was moved from the orphanage to Bethany's Healing Hands Rehabilitation program in Timisoara.
