Several years ago I was removed from my biological parents because of alcohol abuse. I am the oldest of four children, all of whom struggle with emotional and developmental delays. It has been difficult for me and my siblings to understand why we cannot live with our biological parents any longer, but our foster family helped us work through these questions. My siblings and I were happy in our new home, but in October, 2002 our foster father suddenly died. Our foster mother tried to keep us all together, but in July, 2003 she became ill and we were moved to a new foster family.
