Foster Care Sponsorship in Luohe, China
Luohe is situated south of the Yellow River in the Henan Province. The city of Luohe is home to approximately 2.52 million people, a small city compared to others in China. While this province is considered to be one of the poorest in China, it is famous for its food production, the national garden city, and the inland special zone. Today, Luohe is not only a modern city but also a green city with forests covering nearly 45% of its land.

The Luohe Orphanage is home to approximately 150 children who have physical and psychological disabilities. In late 2007, China's National Department of Civil Affairs approached Bethany for assistance to develop a program to provide family care for orphans in the Luohe Orphanage. Bethany's partnership with the Chinese government focuses on placing these children in local foster families.

In early 2008, Bethany placed our first foster children with local families. Our first five families are caring for three children each. Your support will help these and future families care for children within their homes. Our goal is to train and recruit a foster family for each child living in the Luohe Orphanage. This would be a monumental achievement and a true testimony within this closed country.
